Hi, I'm Jake
I am a Burlington based maker, designer, artist and educator, pursuing my dreams of making! Thanks for visiting my website.
My focus is on making things that solve everyday problems, brighten people's day, and inspire the next generation of makers.
I love making awesome things and I want help you make something great!
My Story
I've always been a maker, tinkerer, and problem solver. In my early years, I made everything from duct tape wallets to potato cannons to questionable bike rigs (and awesome soda bottle "robots" as you can see).
Growing up in Colchester, Vermont, making was a constant, but I hadn't considered it a career path.
After graduating from Colchester High School, I thought a technical business career was ahead of me so I went to the University of Miami to study Business Analytics, Finance, and Economics. Living in Miami deepened my appreciation for Vermont in a way I didn't think was possible. Quickly into my degree I knew I was ready to return home for good.
Once I returned to the Green Mountain State, I spent four years working in business operations and software implementation, sharpening my professional skills, but still searching for professional fulfillment.
Finally, in the spring of 2024 I decided to take a leap and turn my passion for making into a full-time career!
Today, I work at the Generator Makerspace in Burlington, where I get to build, learn, and bring creative ideas to life every day.
As a freelance maker, I thrive on learning new techniques, solving problems, and crafting meaningful projects for people. I'd love to help you with your project!
